There wedding was at Wortley Hall, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Its a lovely venue with acres of grounds, and very well kept too. The young couple were a pleasure to work with, relaxed and really made the most of there day.

I was there from the bridal prep until a little after the first dance. I find the first dance the a great time to capture people having fun, usually people who dont normally dance will dance.

In the highlights that Il post at the end, youll see ive added just a selection of images. It sums the day up really. If you would like to see more of what I do, or see how a wedding looks in print. Ive a selection of wedding albums in studio.

Here are the highlights.

Bridalwear & Nail art photoshoot with Red10

Red10 Bridalwear & Nail art photoshoot

I was approached by Red10 Training Academy, Doncaster. To work on a photoshoot idea they had. It sounded great as alot of effort was going into it. It does make shoots alot better to work on. The collaboration featured some of the best companies and hotel in the area.

The location for the shoot was the Mount Pleasant Hotel, a wonderful venue for weddings, birthdays, christenings or even funerals or just a break away. The bridal gowns were provided by Victoria House of Armthorpe who supply all of your designer bridal needs along with prom and mother of the bride. The Jewellery and accessories were provided by Venezia Designs of East Laith Gate, a lovely boutique nestled in the heart of town the stock some really exclusive and stunning labels.

After a full day or prep the ladies were all ready, so I arrived at the hotel at 3pm to set up. We had planned to do the bridalwear outside but as usual the weather got the better of us. So we stayed indoors and used an area graced with antique wooden doors for the backdrop. It still worked very well. I kept the lighting very simple. A 2 light set-up with one being a huge octabox for the main light and a smaller for rim/fill. I set my lights a certain way as to still keep the ambient of the room. A little how I approach wedding images when photographing an actual wedding. The hotel were great, making sure we had everything we needed.

We worked very well and managed to get a wrap by around 6pm. I was shooting direct to the laptop wirelessly so the team could view the images as we went and choose the best for edits. This saves alot of time for all involved. I find then the images we edit are always keepers.

Ive 2 sets of images to show you.  One set is behind the scenes and the prep. The 2nd will be the finished edits. It was great fun, yet productive.

Heres the first set. Taken by one of the team with there camera. If you right click you should be able to view full size. copyright Lee Archer & Red10

Recent Newborn shoot – 7days old

[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]

Elsie came to the studio when she was just 7 days old. She was such a cutie. She was also hungry for most of the shoot so some shots are awake. Normally the aim is for sleepy shots and the baby posed a certain way. However, I do like it when a baby so young can look into the camera.

This was the first time Id used the new Vintage Parcel Scales. I think they look great with a shabby chic throw and the baby comfy on top. A parent is always just out of shot, in some he is under the shot. Safety is key.

I have a mix of newborn outfits, bows, headbands etc. You can also bring your own. These shoots last around 2 hours depending on feeds etc. I charge £65 currently and that also includes a 10×8 print. If you would like to know more, please ask via the contact button.

A recent Actor Portfolio – Viking

Richard Carter – Actor

Ive known Richard for a couple of years since he had a fitness shoot with me.(photo-flex) we seem to get on great and have kept in touch.

We spoke about doing some headshots for agencies etc, then the idea of using some roles came up. He has worked on a Viking program and wanted to use the outfit, Great idea, I thought.  So we arranged the shoot at my studio in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

We had alot of fun looking at how to pose and light the shots. Headshots work well using a rembrant style light. And the themed shots more moody. I do love a challenge too. I think we ended up with some great shots. I have photographed up and coming actors before and a few singers/groups. Its a little different and we can get creative. I hope you like these shots. Cake Smash for older children

Obviously I thought this was a great idea. The main idea of shoots with kids is to capture fun and there cute side.

The children really did love it. They were quick to dive in and start eating the cakes, they had one each. Then as you would expect they turned on each other and started to cover each other in Butter Icing.  I must admit I was laughing alot. It was hard not too.  There parents loved it too. I always think with these shoots how funny it will be at there 18th or 21st with these images on the walls. We didnt have cake shoots when I was little.

So if you think this would suit your children then get in touch. Here are some highlights. (right click to view larger)

Ive had a great response already this last few weeks. August being popular. 2017 starting to book now too. I hope to hear from you soon.

I had met the couple a few times so was looking forward to there day. The prep started off at home before moving onto the hotel. It was a relaxed wedding prep, Rachaels dad was a toast master of a different kind, providing fresh toast and coffee. I thought this was very thoughtful.

The weather was pretty good for December, it did start to rain a little as we finished the photography. It would be lovely to get snow in December, but we rarely do.

As ever Mount Pleasant went out of there way to make the day run smooth for the couple. The room used for the Wedding Breakfast is a large room and always set up perfect. There were alot of guests so the space really works well.

Below are a few highlights of the day.

Montana & Billy Wedding – Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel

In December I was asked to photography this lovely couples wedding. I also had my videographer John with me. It was all shot at the hotel which can make life so much easier when the weather is bad. It wasnt too bad as it happens, although a little cold. We started with prep photography in the brides room, she had alot of bridesmaids which makes the photography easier. Lots of people to focus on as well as the bride. The brides mother making sure it all went to plan.

The ceremony at Rogerthorpe manor is always good as theres lots of space. So John and myself were able to set up easily. The day ran well and after the official photographs etc, it was time for the meal. Now this wasnt like alot of weddings. Before the main course arrived the party seemed to start. Everyone having such a good time, and why not. Make the most of such a special day.

Just to add, John my videographer is very good. His attention to detail etc is perfect for your special day, ask me for a sample of his work.

One of the things you dont always see at a wedding, well i never have, is the Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the world. Yes Tyson Fury was there as it was his wifes sisters wedding. Very nice guy and a lovely family.

So here are some photograph Highlights for you.

Last week I had a last minute inbox asking me to do a newborn shoot. The baby boy was early, and actually was born Christmas Day. I do love to do newborn shoots. I dont do loads per year but I do like to do them. Luckily he was doing all the right things, eating then sleeping. Although he put up a fight at first

I dont rush newborn shoots, they are best done withing 14 days, less is overdue. There is always tea or coffee in studio so you and your partner can get comfy. I also have to make sure the studio is lovely and warm. For this shoot we started with a blue blanket, stretched over a large posing bean, with other blankets and cushions for shape. We also used the old faithful tin bath. Great for safe posing.  Posing takes a while which is why we aim for more time. I dont claim to be a newborn specialist though, there are people who do just that. But I do provide some lovely images.

I hope you like the photo sample collage. Il be posting more soon.

thanks

Lee

My new website

Hi, and welcome to the new Lee Archer Photography website. I asked for the new site build a little before Christmas and the company were very fast to deliver.

Its nearly 2016 so Im already planning what to do for next year and managingt the bookings I already have. I expect to be busy again like this year, although I wont be taking on as many Weddings.

The reason is to give my clients more attention and time. I also have a busy fitness department which was really busy this year and took me all over the country. I feel blessed to have such great clients. Ive visited some new and lovely wedding venues this year, and hope to see them again. If your looking at booking your wedding for 2016/17 please do get in touch and the consultation is free. And of course you dont have to book. I think its important to meet the photographer and ask as many questions as you can think of. Your wedding is such an important day, dont book just anyone.

For now Il keep the first blog short. Please view the galleries which Im updating all the time. Its surprising how much Ive got to re-upload since getting a new site.

Have a lovely New Years Eve.

Lee
